Eco Latex Technical Data

Description

A synthetic rubber emulsion for adding to cement mortars where good adhesion and water resistance are required

Uses

Eco Latex is a high quality emulsion that substantially increases the qualities of cement mortars such as

• Recesses • Rail Bed

• Columns in pre-cast Construction • Concrete Anchors

• Bridge Bearings • Cavities

• Gaps • Machine Foundations

Application

Surface Preparation

Concrete surfaces should be clean, sound and free from oil, greases, laitance and loose particles. Metal surfaces (iron and steel) should be free from scale, rust, oil and grease

Absorbent substance must be saturated thoroughly, but no standing water.

Mixing

The pre-mixed powder is added to water to suit the desired consistency. For flowable consistency, approximately 4.16 liters of water per 25 kg bag is required. Mix mechanically for

2-3 min. with a slow-speed drill (max. 500 RPM) until a smooth even consistency is achieved.

Application Proper

After mixing, allow the mortar to rest for a while, stirring lightly to ensure that air displayed by the grouting is allowed to escape. When carrying out base plate grouting, ensure that sufficient pressure head is maintained to keep mortar flow uninterrupted. Make sure the necessary formwork is firmly in place and kept watertight. Eco Grout HS may be placed In thickness up to a maximum of 50mm at one pour. Where large areas are to be placed, it is important to maintain a continues flow throughout. It is necessary to organize the work sequence properly (manpower, materials, etc.) to ensure an uninterrupted flow. In such large area, Eco Grout HS may also be pumped. A heavy duty diaphragm pump is recommended for this purpose. Screw feed and piston pumps may also be used.

Specific Application

Grouting under base plate: Use flowable consistency.

Grouting anchor bolts: Use trowellable consistency.

Grouting large volumes: For sections thicker than 50mm it is necessary to fill the Eco Grout HS with graded 10mm silt free aggregate to minimize temperature rise. The quantity of aggregate should not exceed 1 part aggregate to 1 part Eco Grout HS by weight. For such mixes, a conventional concrete mixer and pump may be used.

Cleaning

Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened mortar can only be

mechanically removed.

Important Recommendations

Use Eco Grout HS for repairs to concrete structure and grouting only.

Minimum Gap : 10mm

Maximum Gap : 50 mm

Minimum Application Temperature : 10ºC

At temperatures lower than 20ºC setting time and strength gain will be slower.

Cure exposed mortar surface for at least 3 days with curing compound (Ecocure S) or used other approved curing methods.
