Ecocrete SP1 Technical Data
Description
A highly effective super-plasticizer with a set retarding effect for producing free-flowing concrete in hot climates. Also, a substantial water-reducing agent for promoting high, early ultimate strengths.
Uses
Ecocrete SP1 as a super-plasticizer for flowing concrete in:
• Floor Slubs
• Foundations
• Slender components with densely packed reinforcement
• Walls
• Columns
• Beams and Ceilings
Dosage
0.5 – 2.0% by weight of cement. Exact dosage rates are dependent on the type of effect sought, quality of cement and aggregates, water/cement ratio and ambient temperature.
It is advisable to carry out trial mixes.
Dispensing
Ecocrete SP1 can be added separately to the freshly mixed concrete or directly to the mixing water prior to its addition to the aggregates. When added separately to the freshly mixed concrete, further mixing should take place for at least one minute. Automatic and accurate dispensing equipment is available from Econtech.
Specification
Concrete shall be designed in accordance with ACI211.1-89 “Standard recommended practice for selecting proportions for concrete”, and shall contain a super-plasticizer which shall be Ecocrete SP1, as manufactured by Econtech. It shall be used in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
